Jason’s gaze rested on Estrella, a flicker of restlessness flashing in his eyes as he felt the weight of many eyes upon her. His right hand grazed her side, a touch both possessive and tender, as he murmured, “I can’t stand the thought of all these people ogling you.”

Estrella rolled her eyes. Men always took what they had for granted until someone else showed interest. Then even the mundane became precious.
