Her tone softened and was immediately laced with hints of flattery. “Come on, Ariana Igor is your younger brother after all. If he takes over the company, it will ensure that the Torrey family legacy continues. He will also serve as your backer so you can marry Mr. Lodge with peace of mind. Isn’t that killing two birds with one stone?”

As she spoke, Gwen quickly pulled Igor over and scolded, “What are you waiting for? Apologize to your sister right now! Who gave you the permission to barge into her room early in the morning?”

Reluctant to comply, Igor retorted, “Torrey Co. will be mine sooner or later anyway! She’s threatening to call off the engagement and ruin my future. Of course, I must set things straight with her!”

Ariana simply watched, unfazed.

She had never expected her younger brother to start coveting the family’s assets at such a young age.
