Summary of A Deal with the Devil

Shirley Weiss wakes up in an unfamiliar room, confused and distressed. She is supposed to marry Samuel Moore the next day, a moment she has waited six years for. However, outside the room, Samuel coldly orders his men to "go in" and ensure no one dies. Though his subordinate hesitates, reminding him that Shirley is his fiancée, Samuel remains unmoved, consumed by thoughts of another woman—Sophia White—who had suffered at the hands of Shirley’s father, Owen Weiss.

Earlier, Samuel had discovered that Owen had imprisoned and harmed Sophia, who was Billy White’s sister. Seeking vengeance, Billy demands Shirley suffer tenfold in return. Though initially agreeing, Samuel ultimately stops the act before it happens, justifying it by saying that Sophia, a kind person, would not want them to resort to such cruelty.

Convinced it was just a dream, she prepares for her wedding, blissfully unaware of Samuel’s betrayal.
