The full moon is getting closer and I miss my Mate. Since I met her, I have not been away from her during a Full Moon and I miss her, like crazy. Sitting next to me, is Maggie and across from us, are Alice and John.

“Is something wrong? Maggie asks me. “You seemed to be far in thought.” I look at her and sigh. “I just miss my Mate. This is the first Full Moon we are apart since we met.”

She gives me a smile and puts her hand on my arm. “I’m sure, she is thinking about you too.” And I know that she is right. Elsa will be thinking about me right now..

From the corner of my eye, I see John stiffen and his head snaps to his right. Next thing I know he jumps up, grabs Alice, and walks away. I link him and tell him to take my room, that I will make sure no one will disturb them and that I will look after Maggie. He thanks me and makes a bee–line for the house.

Maggie and I watch them as they enter the house. After a few minutes I hear her sigh and when I look at her I see sadness in her eyes. I put my hand on her armand I tell her the night is not over yet.

She looks at me, she gives me a small smile and I pull her in for a hug. “Maybe it is good you didn’t find him tonight. What if it had been a male from one of these Packs?” I say to her and then we both start. laughing.

“You’re probably right. But seeing Alice and John, makes me realize that I want a Mate. Even though for years I have wondered why someone would want me. And that I didn’t deserve one.”

I can tell she really believes she does not deserve a Mate, so I turn towards her and tell her that everyone deserves a Mate. That, back home, there are more than enough unmated males and that she just needs to wait a little longer.
