Ava was absent-minded since the moment she arrived at the company in the morning. Enrico had told her in advance that Damien had an executive meeting today, and she could take the opportunity to check out the safe in Damien’s office. She had never done something like that, so she couldn’t help but feel nervous. Therefore, she didn’t have an appetite during lunch. “Miss Nagel, you look pale. Are you feeling unwell?” Luella was concerned and she gave Ava a piece of bread by putting it in front of her.
“Uh… I’m fine.”
“I don’t think you’ve eaten much during lunch. You should eat some bread to fill your stomach.” Ava stood up as she picked up a folder and walked out. “Miss Nagel, where are you going?” “… I have to go upstairs.” “There’s an executive meeting on the upstairs today. Why are you going there?” Ava didn’t answer her, and she got into the elevator hurriedly. In order to enter Damien’s office, she had to pass by the secretary’s office. Dempsey and few higher level secretaries were in the conference room for the meeting, so there were only three to five people left in the secretary’s office. She walked in and told them, “I have a document that I need to hand over to the president personally.”
When they saw Ava from the Administrative Office, they quickly said to her, “Leave it to us, we’ll hand it over to the president.”
“No, I have to give it to the president personally! I… I’d better go into his office to wait for him!” Ava pretended that she was about to go in and they stopped her in an instance. As she couldn’t break in by force, she had to hand over the folder obediently.
It seemed that it was impossible to go in during the daytime, thus she had to think of another way. She lowered her head as she walked out of the secretary’s office and she bumped into Dempsey, who was coming out from the conference room. She was stunned when she saw Ava. “Mada… Uh, Miss Nagel, what are you doing here?” “Oh, nothing!” Ava kept her head down and left in a rush as she feared that she would be exposed. However, Dempsey called out to her, “I’m going to take a document from the president’s office. Are you looking for the president?”
She nodded in a daze.

Dempsey added, “Miss Nagel, why don’t you wait in the president’s office for a while?”
Ava was thrilled upon hearing that. She failed to come up with an excuse to enter the president’s office just a moment ago, but an
opportunity appeared unexpectedly. She followed Dempsey into the room swiftly. Dempsey went straight to the safe and entered the password to open it. She then took out an encrypted envelop.
Ava was extremely nervous that her heart almost jumped out of her chest. The safe was opened in front of her after she had been working so hard for it! Did those documents that Enrico wanted were placed in there? It was a pity that Dempsey’s back was facing her and blocked her view as she was entering the password. Since it wasn’t amiable to get too close, she felt awkward to take two steps closer to take a peek.
After Dempsey collected the files, she locked the safe.
She noticed that Ava has been staring at her, so she smiled, “Miss Nagel, please wait for a little while. The meeting will end in about half an hour. I shall send the documents to the president immediately.”
“Wait!” Ava stopped her hastily. “Miss Nagel, is there anything else?” “A… About the safe’s password, is it only you and the president know about it?”
“Of course, those are important documents of the company. Other than the president and I, there are another four executives that could access it, and no one else could open it.”
Ava thought of something. Since Dempsey knew about the safe’s password, Damien must have trusted her deeply. It was said that Dempsey had worked under Damien as soon as she graduated from university, so she must be remarkably capable in her work. After Dempsey left, Ava shook her head to clear her mind. Why did she think of something irrelevant at a time like this? Since she was alone in the office, she quickly approached the safe.
But, how can she open it? She remembered scenes from movies where the person who wanted to open the safe would need some special types of equipment. But she didn’t have any of those. She tried to look from some other angles for fingerprints that Dempsey might have left on the buttons, as she had just pressed on them. But obviously, the movies were all lies as she couldn’t see anything at all. “Forget it and just give it a shot!” Ava took out a small note that she jotted down yesterday. She tried entering his birthday and all the dates that she found on the internet that were related to him. None of them worked. Just what kind of password did he use? She was getting dizzy after trying the passwords again and again, but the lock didn’t budge at all. At this moment, the office door opened.
“What are you doing?”
Damien walked into the office and he saw Ava bending over beside the shelf as she was trying to open his safe.
She panicked as she heard his voice, so she hid the paper in her hands hastily. “… I’m just… looking around.” Damien looked at her doubtingly.
When he was in a meeting, Dempsey told him that Ava came over to his office to see him. He quickly
ended the lengthy meeting as soon as he knew about it. He didn’t expect that she seemed to have some tricks up her sleeves.
