Two hours after Darius left with Reina, I was sitting in the living area of the house. The cleaning guys were done and the house looked like a better version of itself. Although some painting guys were still around the corners, repainting but the interior was looking sharp and beautiful.

The front door bell rang and my eyes lifted to see Mason walking in with a tray of food. I’d just contemplated walking out of the house to visit my mom’s, make breakfast and get some groceries along the way. The kitchen was practically empty.

“Breakfast?” Mason offered as he left the food on the dining table

“No, thank you,” I replied out of pride even though my stomach was grumbling.

He went into the kitchen and came back with two spoons and two plates. He gave me one and for a minute, I was taken

aback.

“You should cat. If you have to make Darius listen to you, you need your strength,”

“I was the one who told him about the news of you leaving,”

“How did you know?” I asked. He wasn’t even in our pack. When did he even arrive?
