Chapter 4421 The Lightning Beast
Kai could only smile helplessly before he decided to chase after her.
The two of them each held onto a bit of mystery, which wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. After all, they had just met, so it wasn’t possible to reveal everything about themselves just yet.
Moreover, Catalina seemed to be of no ordinary standing, and she was certainly not the type to reveal her identity so easily.
While riding the birds, the two picked up much speed, leaving everyone else far behind them.
“Look! What’s that?”
Suddenly, Catalina pointed ahead.
In a hurry, Kai followed the direction of her finger. Not far off, a massive black vortex had descended from the sky. Dark clouds gathered densely above it, with lightning continuously striking down, only to disappear into the vortex.
“There’s definitely some kind of creature inside that vortex. That looks like lightning tribulation.”
Even though Kai couldn’t detect it through his spiritual sense, the lightning didn’t seem ordinary from a distance. It seemed more like tribulation.

After all, lightning tribulation didn’t discriminate based on location. Even if one was in a secret realm, such an event could occur as long as a person or a demon beast was undergoing tribulation.
Hence, it was normal for a lightning tribulation to happen in the Celestial Battlefield.
“Lightning tribulation? Is there someone undergoing tribulation?”
Catalina’s face was filled with astoundment.
“It shouldn’t be a human being, given how the lightning vanishes as soon as it strikes. It’s a little odd.”
Kai creased his brows as his expression turned grave.
“Could it be some kind of demon beast, then?” Catalina frowned too. “Master never mentioned anything about this place having…”
Suddenly, the woman realized she had let something slip and promptly shut her mouth.
Kai turned to her. “What did you just say? Something about a master?”
“No, not at all. I was just saying how great it would be if my master were here. Even in the face of formidable beasts, there would be nothing to fear.”
Catalina hastily corrected herself.
Kai shot her a glance. He knew this young lady was definitely hiding something, but he didn’t want to pry further.
At that moment, what mattered more was to find out what exactly lay within the heart of that black vortex.
He had planned to get closer to the vortex using the ivory bird. Alas, the creature trembled all over, clearly too terrified to approach. In the end, it landed directly on the ground.
“Let’s just go around it. Our powers are suppressed. If that thing turns out to be a demon beast, we won’t be able to deal with it,” Catalina suggested upon seeing how Kai was actually trying to get closer.
“Are you scared?” The man glanced at her.
“I’m not scared at all…” Catalina quickly put on a fearless facade when she saw the look on his face.
