Gazing at the man, Kai couldn’t tell whether he was a soul remnant or a physical body. At that moment, he couldn’t unleash his spiritual sense to ascertain that.
“We meant no offense, sir. Please forgive us,” he said, bowing at the man.
Regardless of the other person’s identity, it was always wise to be polite first since it wasn’t human nature to lash out at someone who was greeting the other with a smile.

The man slowly turned around, his inscrutable eyes locking onto him.

“You meant no offense?” The man slowly rose to his feet. “You two purposefully headed here, yet you claim to have meant no offense.”
Only then did Kai get a good look at him. He was cloaked in a long black robe that concealed his entire body. As he stood up, icy waves of lethal intent radiated off him.

Looking at his soul remnant, Kai wanted nothing more than to curse aloud. Cut the d*mn act!

“Yes, we were just curious. If it bothers you, we’ll leave right away!”

The man started, “You two want to leave? Without my permission, you won’t be able to leave this place. And to be honest, you two being here is all my doing. Otherwise, why would others be unable to see this main hall?”
“May I know why you deliberately led us here, sir?” At that moment, Kai had a bad feeling deep within.
He felt that the Demonic Cultivator’s soul remnant likely intended to possess someone. Although doing so would result in a significant decrease in power, it would still be better than being a soul remnant that was forever trapped there.
If that were truly the case, this man was certainly scheming to possess his body.
“It’s nothing much. I’ve been here for several thousand years, trapped despite my cultivation. I can’t help but feel a tad resentful. So, I need to borrow your bodies to leave this godforsaken place and enjoy the world outside,” the man answered without holding back at all.
At his words, Catalina’s face instantly went as black as thunder.
Kai also frowned. “I’m not quite following you, sir. Are you asking us to take you away?”
He continued playing the fool.
