It was too sudden, and Kai had not anticipated that this old man would suddenly make a move. For a moment, he couldn’t react.
Surprisingly, it was the jade pendant worn by Catalina that suddenly emitted a burst of red light, causing the old man to momentarily falter.

“Mr. Chance, can you confirm that guy is also a Draconian?” asked Cyanna.

Kai nodded and said, “Yes. I investigated the moment I arrived on the fifth floor, but I just didn’t expect him to launch a surprise attack.”

Catalina held her broken jade pendant, her expression filled with sorrow.
Had it not been for the sudden activation of the life-saving token earlier, they both would have fallen victim to that old man’s malicious intent.
