Both of them stood up, stepping back several paces, their faces pale with disbelief.

"She... she can fight like that?" Fleur stammered, her heart pounding as she looked at Gideon.

"I had no idea..." Gideon replied, staring in shock at Calliope.

He'd never imagined she could be so formidable. Just moments ago, she'd kicked

the sofa clear across the room, and even an amateur could tell his uncle was no match for her. His uncle had been relentlessly pushed back, struggling to hold his ground.

Could she really take on his uncle? But wasn't she the same person who struggled to open a jar of pickles?

Fleur's face was a portrait of confusion, but Gideon was even more baffled. He watched Calliope, seeing her in a new light for the first time. Every move she made was precise, decisive. It hit him harder than ever-she was extraordinary. He realized now, he'd never really known her at all.

Understanding this, Gideon's face turned even paler. He knew things were about to get a whole lot worse.

"You... you're a member of Frostwolf!" Gabriel exclaimed, finally piecing it together through his one-sided beatdown, unable to fight back.

"You're 001!" he gasped, incredulity etched on his face. "You were the leader of Frostwolf? Were you the one who saved my life?"
