Kristopher’s expression darkened.

“Anthony.”

As Anthony was about to speak, Belinda approached with a serene smile. “You haven’t cut your birthday cake yet.”

She gestured towards a group of children in the corner. “Your grandkids are eager. Let’s not keep them waiting.”

Anthony followed her gesture, noticing the children’s anticipation.

“That’s right, Dad,” Carol added, attempting to diffuse the situation. “We shouldn’t discuss our issues here, in front of everyone.”

Ignoring Carol, Anthony looked at Belinda with concern. “Belinda, how much longer can you bear this? You have my sympathy!”

Belinda maintained her gentle smile. “Today is about celebration, not grievances.”

Anthony studied her smile, then exhaled deeply. “Out of respect for you, I’ll drop it for today.”
