Chapter 69:

From the moment the warm-up lap began, Belinda could tell that Cathy was unfamiliar with racing cars.

It seemed Cathy was figuring out the car’s controls right there on the track.

Belinda couldn’t understand why Kristopher had insisted on Cathy competing against her.

It was reckless to allow someone inexperienced onto the official track. Luckily, it was just her and Cathy out there. If there had been more drivers, an accident would have been inevitable.

Despite her lack of fondness for Cathy, Belinda adhered to the unspoken rules of sportsmanship.

These dictated not letting an opponent lose too disgracefully when the skill gap was wide.

So, noticing Cathy trying her best to drive towards her, Belinda naturally eased off the accelerator.

She planned to let Cathy overtake her this lap. Winning was a certainty for her, and giving Cathy this small concession seemed harmless.

Unexpectedly, Cathy aimed straight for her car!

By the time Belinda realized Cathy’s intentions and floored it, it was too late.
