Chapter 104:

“Sir, Mrs. Cox is approaching,” the driver announced.

No sooner had he maneuvered the vehicle to turn around than he noticed Belinda sprinting toward them. Her figure grew larger in the rearview mirror.

“Leave her be,” Kristopher commanded, his brow furrowed as he tried to steal a moment’s rest, eyes shut.

Belinda had been so resolute when she left. What could have made her chase after the car so suddenly?

“But, sir…” The driver hesitated.

With a worried press of the pedal, the driver accelerated, watching Belinda’s figure shrink in the rearview mirror. Then, unexpectedly, Belinda stumbled and fell.

The driver, concern etching his features, leaned in and spoke in a hushed tone, “Mrs. Cox fell down.”

Kristopher’s frown deepened. He swiftly turned to glance at the rearview mirror, only to realize how far they had driven from Belinda. He watched through the glass as she slowly picked herself up from the ground.
