Chapter 113:

Marc glanced upwards at Kristopher and called out, “Mr. Cox, have you forgotten? The day you brought Fluffy home, you mentioned he was a bit grubby and needed a bath at the pet hospital, but by then, it was too late, and all the pet hospitals had closed. You asked me to give Fluffy a bath when I found some time.”

As he spoke, Marc scratched his head awkwardly. “I managed to take him yesterday afternoon when I wasn’t too busy. But right after I dropped him off, I got tied up with some urgent business at work and completely forgot to pick him up. That’s why he ended up staying overnight at the pet hospital.”

He then looked up at Cathy, who stood beside Kristopher on the upper floor. “Sir, earlier when you called and mentioned Miss Miller…” Marc paused as Kristopher cut him off abruptly, “There’s no need to worry about the hospital now.”

With a frown, Kristopher gave Cathy a cold stare. “She’s alright now.” Cathy bit her lip, offering a strained smile in response, but remained silent.

“Thank you.”

The words came softly from Belinda as she sniffled and carefully placed Fluffy back into his carrier. With a heartfelt tone, she added, “If it weren’t for you…”

Fluffy could have ended up as stew in Cathy’s pot.

Grateful, yet without another glance, Belinda hurried away, clutching the carrier tightly.
