Chapter 139:

Belinda took a deep breath, fighting the impulse to confront Cathy and reveal her deceit. “No one understands this better than you,” she stated calmly.

With a resigned sigh, she collected the shattered remnants of her phone and stowed them in her bag.

Lifting her head, Belinda fixed Cathy with a frosty stare. “Do you really think you’ve solved anything by destroying my phone? What if I have everything backed up?”

Cathy’s self-satisfied expression wavered, her face losing color as doubt crept in.

She gnawed on her lip, casting a resentful gaze at Belinda.

Time seemed to stretch before Cathy finally narrowed her eyes and accused, “You’re lying to me.”

She was convinced Belinda had no backup.

Cathy had been watching Belinda closely from the moment she mentioned the recording.

Even when Belinda had stepped into the corridor, Cathy kept an eye on her from the periphery.

Not once had Belinda checked her phone; how could she have possibly backed it up?

Furthermore, if Belinda truly had a backup, she wouldn’t have been so visibly upset over the loss of her phone.

Clearly, Belinda was merely bluffing.
