He looked up to meet Kristopher’s gaze, which was sharp and dark. “Do you genuinely believe we are wrongly accusing her?”

Kristopher’s eyes narrowed slightly. He looked at Fred, his voice laced with frosty disdain. “Who empowered you to talk to me like this?”

Kristopher had already been uneasy when seeing that Fred had carried Belinda away. He had initially let it slide since Fred had stepped in to defuse the tension between Belinda and Cathy.
