Chapter 302:

Kristopher’s expression softened at her words. Perhaps her illness had truly stolen many of her memories.

In the hidden room, Belinda pressed her back against the wall and closed her eyes. She hadn’t anticipated such a perfect alignment of dates. They had indeed first met on June 28th at the beach—but on an overcast day with no sun to cause a burn. Her hopes had been nothing more than wishful thinking. Kristopher had chosen this villa’s décor because he knew Cathy loved it, even setting the secret room’s code to 0628 in honor of their meeting date.

Belinda laughed bitterly to herself. She should have realized it sooner. If Kristopher remembered everything from five years ago, why had he remained silent for three years of marriage—and through their divorce?

Suddenly, Marc’s phone rang downstairs. He answered with a furrowed brow. “Today’s meeting… Well…” He glanced up at Kristopher, seeking his input.

Kristopher gave a casual wave. Marc, picking up on the unspoken cue, walked outside with his phone and said in a low voice, “I’m really sorry, Mr. Cox has some personal matters to attend to today…”

Watching Marc leave, Cathy bit her lip, turning to Kristopher. “Aren’t you going to work today?”
