Chapter 158 Slandering Her

"It was my oversight for not calling Uncle Theo, Mom," Benson said hurriedly. He was worried that Theo might blab about what happened at the hotel that day if Janet pissed Theo off.

He looked at Theo and gave the latter a pleading look. "I'm getting ready to marry Cee before New Year. I hope you will give us your blessing."

"I won't," Theo responded icily in a deep voice, causing Benson's expression to change immediately.

Janet immediately got upset and said angrily, "Listen to what Theo said, Dad. His nephew is getting married, and yet he doesn't want to give them his blessing!"

Edward frowned, feeling confused. Theo had always been mature, reliable, and sensible. He would never act this impulsively.

So, he suggested, "Benson might've made a mistake when he didn't give you a call, Theo, but you should give them your blessing."

Theo wore a cold expression as he snickered. "A blessing would've been pointless. They're broken up."

At the next moment, everyone was utterly shocked. Benson's expression grew terrible, and his grip on the ring box immediately tightened.

Edward's face darkened as he looked at Benson. "What happened?"

Fighting to keep calm, Benson responded, "Uncle Theo misinterpreted the situation, Grandpa. Cee and I weren't broken up. We merely had a spat over a misunderstanding, but it was resolved.
