Love at the Wrong Table

Chapter 2143 A Battle of Wits and Power

“Who’s there? Is it Serpent King? Come out! I want to talk to you!”

Solana still summoned her courage, calling out boldly.

Yet, there was no response. The mysterious figure did not appear. So, she continued her cautious search within the dimly lit structure of the altar.

Moments later, as she ventured deeper, an eerie sight greeted her. Her heart froze with dread as she felt goosebumps erupt across her skin.

The intricate patterns of the altar suddenly glowed, casting a sickly light over the surrounding containers filled with dark, viscous liquids.

To her shock, the containers were not filled with any substance, but with naked women.

They lay motionless, their hair shaved clean, their eyes open in a disturbing stillness. Some seemed lifeless, yet others bore a faint, unnatural breath that made them appear as though they were trapped between life and deaths

Was this the sacrifice for Serpent King?

What could he possibly want with these women?

Suddenly, from the shadows, a massive serpent slithered into view, its cold, predatory eyes gleaming in the dark.

Solana, whose courage had been tested before, now recoiled instinctively, leaping back in fright.

Without warning, the serpent lunged with the force of a thunderstorm, its massive tail swinging toward her.

Luckily, Solana was quick on her feet, and though she avoided the crushing blow, she was caught in the furious gusts created by its movement. The force of the wind sent her crashing to the ground in a heap.

It was over.

Solana knew that if the serpent struck again, she had no chance of escaping.

Just then, a voice crackled through her earpiece–it was Magnus.

She quickly shouted, her voice trembling but determined, “Serpent King, if you kill me, you’re as good as dead!”

The serpent halted, its terrifying eyes narrowing in confusion.

The next moment, a grotesque scene unfolded.

The giant serpent opened its gaping mouth, and from within, a man covered in the serpent’s vile fluids crawled out from its throat.

His body was slender and unnaturally flexible, his long hair cascading around him, while his cold, serpent- like eyes flicked toward Solana. His tongue flicked from his mouth, much like that of a snake.
