Chapter 118

The moment Elara hugged him, her tears began to fall uncontrollably.

She suddenly realized she had taken so many wrong turns in her life.

In her previous life, Asher had treated her so poorly. It wasn't that she hadn't thought about giving up, but every time she remembered the few good things he had done for her, she convinced herself to keep going, to indulge in the relationship. This watch, in particular, had been with her for so long.

Even when she was sick, she couldn't bring herself to sell it.

But she never expected that even this last little memento wasn't from Asher.

It was from Lysander.

'Had I been mistaken about everything from the very beginning she thought.

Lysander looked at Elara, who had just been arguing with him moments ago, and now was suddenly in his arms. He spoke, disbelief in his voice, "Elara?"

His voice was low and restrained.

Elara struggled to regain control of her

otions.

She released Lysander and saw him gazing at her, her hand reaching out to wipe her tears away.

"I wasn't trying to be mean!" Lysander said.

He thought she was crying because of something he had done, and tried to comfort her.

He raised his hand but hesitated, unsure of where to put it.

"Why didn't you tell me that gift was from you?" Elara asked.

"You weren't there when I came by earlier. Something urgent came up, so I left early and had someone else give it to you," Lysander explained.

"But I always thought it was from Asher. If I had known it was from you, I never would have thrown it away. Lysander, you've caused me so much confusion!" Elara exclaimed.

If there hadn't been all these misunderstandings, maybe things wouldn't have ended so tragically in her previous life.

Lysander, hearing her words, asked, "So, you don't hate me, right?"

"Hate you? Why would I hate you?" Elara glanced down at the watch on her wrist. "I thought it was from Asher, and that's why I was planning to get rid of it. Is that why you've been acting so distant?" "Sorry, that's my fault," Lysander said, his voice filled with regret

Elara glared at him, her anger rising. "Why do you always keep things to yourself? What would happen if you just told me what was going on? I've been hurting for so long because of this misunderstanding. I even thought..." As she remembered that she had been thinking about it for the past two days, Elara's heart ached strangely.

And for a moment, she really considered letting it all go.
