After thinking it over for a while, Chloe went back to her bedroom and called Candy.

It sounded noisy on the other end. Amid the noises, Chloe heard

a faint male voice. Ignoring it, she spoke loudly, "I'll take that job you mentioned!"

After hanging up, she immediately blocked Michael's number, tossed her phone aside, and took a shower.

Later at night, Chloe opened the fridge and was hit by a mix of unpleasant smells that made her gag. She barely managed to close the door before she was retching.

Candy handed her a glass of water.

She had barely taken a sip when Candy's voice cut through the
