Chapter 57: Confrontation at the Consortium

Chapter 57: Confrontation at the Consortium

(Elena’s POV)

Jennifer Walsh didn’t care and shouted, “I just said you wanted to hook up with Alpha Marcus, so what? Miss Rivers is right, there are always she–wolves like you who shamelessly stick themselves on-”

Before she could finish her words, I retaliated with a slap across her face. The sound echoed through the Grand Atrium like a gunshot.

Jennifer Walsh stumbled backward, her hand flying to her reddened cheek. Other Blackwood Consortium employees were attracted by the commotion, gathering around us in a growing circle.

Jennifer Walsh, initially stunned, became enraged. Her eyes blazed with fury as she attempted to strike back

at me.

I blocked her swing and delivered another slap, this one harder than the first. Jennifer Walsh reeled from the impact, nearly losing her balance.

“You b***h!” Jennifer Walsh screamed, her face red–eyed with rage. “Security! Security!”

When the security guards arrived, Jennifer Walsh pointed at me accusingly. “This woman is causing trouble and assaulting me! Take her to the Territorial Enforcement Station immediately!”

My voice carried clearly through the atrium. “She attacked me verbally simply because I’m a she–wolf seeking to meet with Marcus Blackwood.”

I looked around at the gathered employees, my gaze steady. “I have to question if this is the Blackwood Consortium’s standard. Even a fly would be insulted here.”

The female onlookers exchanged complex glances. Some nodded in agreement while others looked uncomfortable.

“If this is how the Blackwood Consortium treats visitors, then your reputation speaks for itself, I continued. Jennifer Walsh’s confidence wavered slightly, but she quickly recovered. “You’re just making excuses! You don’t even know Alpha Marcus!”

I pulled out my phone with deliberate calm. Then I’ll call Marcus Blackwood myself.”

The front desk staff’s eyes widened in surprise. They wandered if I genuinely knew Marcus Blackwood after all.

Jennifer Walsh, however, remained confident. She believed I was bluffing since she had never seen me before.

“Go ahead and call,” she sneered. “Let’s see if Alpha Marcus even knows who you are.”

I dialed Marcus’s number, but the call went unanswered. The phone rang endlessly before going to voicemail.

I tried again, but this time I was met with busy signals. My face darkened as I realized Marcus was playing a deliberate game with me.

She turned to the security guards triumphantly. “Take her away! She’s clearly lying about everything!”
