Chapter 66: The Trap at Moonhaven Estate

Chapter 66: The Trap at Moonhaven Estate

(Patricia Blackthorne’s POV)

Richard was already furious when he saw the message on our phone. His face turned red with rage as he

read the words again.

“Il never let this rumor–monger go!” he shouted, his hands shaking with anger.

But when he saw that the address was also in Moonhaven Estate, he was stunned. His expression shifted

from fury to confusion.

“Moonhaven Estate?” he whispered, his voice cracking. “Why would someone there want to meet us?”

I felt a chill run down my spine. Something about this felt wrong, like we were walking into a trap.

“Richard, maybe we shouldn’t go,” I said, placing my hand on his arm. “This could be dangerous.”

But Richard’s anger had consumed his reason. “No! I need to know who’s spreading these lies about Elena!”

He grabbed his coat and headed for the door. I had no choice but to follow him.

“If you’re going, then I’m coming with you, I declared firmly. “I won’t let you face this alone.”

The drive to Moonhaven Estate felt endless Richard gripped the steering wheel so tightly his knuckles turned

white

When we arrived at the estate, another message appeared on our phone. The notification sound made us

both jump.

“Second floor of the building adjacent to the shops. Moonstone Café, Terrace Overlook,” I read aloud.

Richard parked the car with jerky movements. “Let’s get this over with.”

We climbed the stairs to the second floor, our footsteps echoing in the empty stairwell. The Moonstone Café

came into view its terrace overlooking the estate grounds.

On the Terrace Overlook, we saw a young woman sitting with a small boy. The woman had her back to us, but something about her posture seemed familiar.

As we approached, the woman turned around. I immediately recognized her face.

“Sophia Rivers,” I breathed, my heart sinking.

Richard stepped forward, his voice shaking with rage. “Did you send that message?”

Sophia smiled coldly, her eyes glittering with malice. “Yes, I did.”

She gestured to the empty chairs across from her. “Please, sit down. We have so much to discuss.”
