Chapter 69: The Severance Papers

Chapter 69: The Severance Papers

(Amber Stone’s POV)

Legal Advocate Barnes sent the mate bond severance agreement to the Blackwood Consortium as an expedited document, addressed to Alpha Marcus Blackwood. The return address clearly marked

Shadowcrest Legal Chambers.

Seeing that it was an urgent, private document addressed to the Alpha, the front desk staff naturally forwarded it to me. I received the document and noticed the legal firm’s letterhead, which made me curious.

However, considering that urgent, private documents usually contained content only the recipient should see, I suppressed my curiosity. My job was to deliver, not to pry.

I took the file to the Alpha’s Command Chamber, my footsteps echoing in the marble corridor. “Alpha, you

have a file, it’s from Shadowcrest Legal Chambers.”

Marcus Blackwood, who was focused on reading a contract, raised his eyes. He reached out and took the

document I handed over..

Just as he tore it open, his phone suddenly rang. He glanced at the screen and saw it was a call from the healing institute.

He answered, and after hearing what the other person said, he simply replied, “Understood.” His voice w clipped, professional.

He hung up the phone and set the document aside without opening it. He covered his brow with his palm,

using his thumb and forefinger to lightly rub his temples.

“Have someone keep an eye on Nathan Sterling.” His voice carried a dangerous edge that made my spine

straighten.

I looked at him, didn’t ask any more questions, and nodded, “Understood.”

(Elena’s POV)

After completing the discharge procedures, Patricia and I walked downstairs. We found Nathan Sterling

already leaning against his car, waiting.

He was wearing a denim shirt today, with a white T–shirt underneath, and straight black pants tucked into his combat boots. He looked handsome and young, making him appear like a college student.

I almost didn’t recognize him. “Nathan, why are you…”

“I asked Nathan to come, Patricia smiled. “Mom promised to invite him to our house for dinner, after all, he helped your father a lot during those three days.”
