Chapter 140: Awakening and Revelations

Chapter 140: Awakening and Revelations

(Elena Blackwood’s POV)

Hugo returned to look at me in the healing chamber. He stood at the doorway for a moment, his amber eyes studying my face with an unreadable expression.

“Elena,” he called softly.

I looked up from my patient files, meeting his gaze with curiosity. “Yes?”

He hesitated, opening his mouth as if to say something important. Then his expression shifted, becoming more distant and professional.

“Just… check your medical reports carefully for any omissions before leaving,” he said finally.

I frowned as I watched him turn and walk away. His shoulders seemed tense, and there was something in his

voice that didn’t match his casual words.

Hugo had been acting strangely for the past two days. I wondered if he felt guilty about the harsh words he had spoken earlier and was now embarrassed to face me.

The way he avoided eye contact and the careful distance he maintained suggested he was struggling with something he couldn’t bring himself to say.

(God’s POV)

Meanwhile, the Parker family accompanied their daughter Sandy on a high–speed train to the Northern Territory. The rhythmic clacking of wheels on tracks filled the compartment as they traveled toward their

destination.

Clara Parker chattered incessantly throughout the journey. “Sandy, remember to speak politely when we meet these important people. Don’t slouch, and for heaven’s sake, fix your hair.”

William Parker grew impatient with her nagging. “Clara, enough. The girl knows how to behave.”

Sandy stared out the window silently, seemingly ignoring her parents words. The countryside blurred past as she reflected bitterly on her situation.

Everyone was using her for money, including “that she–wolf” who had deceived her into meeting an old man just because she herself hadn’t mated into a wealthy pack.

Her fingers clenched around her handbag as resentment built in her chest. Why couldn’t she have been born

into a better family?

The taxi arrived at a garden–style manor where the Parker family was immediately impressed by the grandeur

of the Blackwood estate. Manicured lawns stretched in every direction, punctuated by elegant fountains and

marble statues.

Sandy clutched her handbag tightly, amazed by the servants and pack guards she saw moving efficiently

across the grounds. Their uniforms were pristine, their movements coordinated with military precision.

Amber Stone emerged from the main building, her professional demeanor commanding immediate respect.
