Chapter 225: The Blackwood Family Won’t Accept a Previously Mated She–Wolf Chapter 225: The Blackwood Family Won’t Accept a Previously Mated She–Wolf

(Sophia Rivers’s POV)

I froze, my eyes locked on the small photograph lying on the floor. The words “Bloodline Verification Document” on the scattered papers seemed to burn into my vision, making my heart pound painfully against my ribs.

The caregiver beside my bed stepped forward, bending to collect the fallen papers. She paused as she glanced at the document, her expression shifting subtly before she extended it toward me.

“Miss Rivers, I think you should look at this,” she said softly.

I recoiled as if she were offering me a venomous snake. “I don’t want to see it! It’s fake, all fake, throw it away!”

The caregiver hesitated, still holding the papers. Something about her uncertainty pushed me over the edge.

“They’re all lying to me!” I screamed, covering my head with my arms. “It must be lies! Take it away!”

My screams echoed through the intensive healing ward, bringing pack nurses and healers running to my bedside. The enforcement officers stationed outside burst through the door, hands instinctively moving to their weapons.

“What’s happening?” one of them demanded.

I couldn’t stop screaming. My lungs burned as I gasped for air, the room spinning around me. A nurse quickly placed an oxygen mask over my face.

“She’s hyperventilating,” the nurse explained to the officers. “Respiratory alkalosis.”

“What triggered this?” an officer asked, looking around at the medical staff.

The healers and nurses exchanged uncertain glances until my caregiver stepped forward, handing the document to the officer.
