Yolanda looked at Daisy, who was standing there, and took a deep breath. “What brings you to the hospital?”

Daisy shook the medication in her hand. “I’m here to pick up some prescriptions. Remember I had some mental health issues before? I’m doing much better now.”

Yolanda reached out and ruffled Daisy’s hair, treating her like a little sister. “Daisy, do you have any drugs that can amplify emotions? Like something that could make an angry person lose control?”

Daisy narrowed her eyes, recalling that Yolanda had asked her for medication once before.

Noticing her hesitation, Yolanda shrugged. “I’m not a good person, and I’ve told you that before. If someone hits me, I’m going to hit back.”

Daisy glanced around and whispered, “Yeah, I have a close senior who works here at the hospital–she studied pharmacology. I’ll go find her and get it for you, but keep this between us. If anyone finds out, she could lose her job.”

Stuff like that isn’t supposed to be out on the market. Every gram is carefully tracked, and sneaking them out

isn’t easy.

Yolanda hugged her, her tone calm. “Don’t worry. Even if my life depended on it, I wouldn’t tell.”

Daisy trusted her. She wasn’t sure why–maybe it was the way Yolanda looked at her, so honest and stubborn.

It felt like if Yolanda wanted something done, she’d make it happen no matter what. That kind of energy just rubbed off on people.

Once Yolanda got the meds, she jumped in her car. She just had a feeling this stuff would come in handy someday.

She headed straight for Ian’s set. He’d been trending non–stop lately, and as her only talent, she couldn’t afford to take her eyes off him.

Even now, she still couldn’t figure Ian out. He acted all cold in public, but when it was just the two of them, he burned hot as magma. She just couldn’t read him at all.

When she got to the set, Simone was busy coaching two actors through their scene, while lan sat off to the side, quietly resting.

Most of the other talents had assistants buzzing around them, but as Ian’s assistant, Yolanda was rarely glued
