#146 “You Do Enjoy Keeping Me in Suspense.”

Benjamin stormed out of Sophia’s office, barely containing the real reason for his anger. If he had lingered a second longer, he might have spilled the truth.

The rumors about Alexander and Sophia being together tormented Benjamin, robbing him of peaceful sleep. He had been in love with Sophia since the moment he laid eyes on her.

For years, Benjamin had concealed his feelings, secretly hoping for a chance, especially after Sophia’s divorce. However, the rumors of her involvement with Alexander shattered those hopes.

The way Sophia and Alexander bantered, her smile when she spoke to him, it all drove Benjamin to the brink. Unable to endure the sight, he left, seething with jealousy.

While he genuinely wished for Sophia’s happiness, the thought of her being with Alexander gnawed at him. Benjamin, distrusting Alexander and suspecting him of ulterior motives, couldn’t shake off the feeling that he was taking advantage of her.

Jealousy consumed Benjamin, propelling him into the streets with a purpose. He wasn’t going to let things stand. Determined, he intended to reveal Alexander’s true colors to Sophia.

The afternoon sun bathed Alexander’s sleek, modern office in a warm glow as he leaned back in his leather chair, fingers tapping rhythmically on the polished surface. Laura, his sharp- witted and ever-efficient secretary, walked in with a cup of coffee in hand.

“Hey, Laura, have a seat. I’ve got something to share,” Alexander greeted her with a charming smile.

Laura took a seat across from him, eyeing him curiously. “Of course, what is going on? You seem unusually chipper.”

Alexander chuckled, a mischievous glint in his eyes. ” Sophia agreed on a date tonight. Let’s just say, things are progressing quite well.”
