Gregory just nodded, like he’d totally expected this. “Okay.”

When Marcus and Candice pulled up at the Hanson residence with Rebecca, Jeffrey arrived around the same time.

Jeffrey watched Rebecca being led inside by the bodyguards, his gaze growing serious. Riley, standing beside him, couldn’t help but tease, “If you’re so worried, why not get out and stop them yourself?”

Jeffrey just pressed his lips together, saying nothing. If he really did step in, it would only make Rebecca’s words ring true. “Do you have any self–respect at all?” Rebecca’s voice echoed in his mind.

Jeffrey finally said, “Get me the live surveillance from the Hanson residence. I want eyes on everything happening there.” Riley did exactly what he asked.

Rebecca wandered around the Hanson residence for a long time. She moved through the front yard, crossed the corridor, and finally found herself by the clear lotus pond in the backyard.
