Chapter 279

“Apology accepted. Just focus on your job from now on,” Rebecca said, letting it go. She swept her gaze over the team. “Product Manager, Head of R&D, and all team leaders, let’s have a meeting right now.”

“Yes,” everyone replied in unison.

“Our team leader just quit,” said the girl who’d spoken earlier.

“Ours too,” added the guy who had just apologized to Rebecca.

The girl and the man–both spoke up again to clarify the situation.

Rebecca made a quick decision. “You two, step up as acting team leaders.”

“Okay,” they replied.

Having settled everything, Rebecca walked straight into her office.

Meditech had been founded ten years ago, and most of the staff had been here for more than four years- some even as long as eight.

They’d all grown attached to the place. It might’ve been a small company, but the perks were great, and in this hyper–competitive world, Meditech was actually one of those rare, genuinely people–friendly companies.

At least Rebecca had finally taken that first step, and things at Meditech hadn’t totally come crashing down

around her.

Rebecca holed up in meetings with her crew the whole afternoon.

Not only did she bag that project this month, she also did her homework on every detail of the Meditech. system–no way she’d end up steering them blindly or tossing out clueless ideas once the project started.

Four hours straight. That was how long the meeting lasted.

“Starting tomorrow, follow your assigned tasks,” Rebecca said to wrap things up. She glanced at Charles, the assistant team lead who had apologized earlier. “Charles, you’ll be in charge of the Hospital Information System–think you can handle that?”

“No problem,” Charles replied.

He had nothing but respect for Rebecca now. There was no way he’d refuse.

Rebecca turned to Sunny, the girl who’d spoken up before. “Sunny, you’ll be handling the Laboratory Information System.”

Sunny grinned. “On it! Consider it done!”

“For the PACS system, implementation, and testing, just keep your usual roles,” Rebecca said to the three. “If anything comes up, reach out to me, the Product Manager, or the Head of R&D.”
