“We left on our own terms,” Rebecca responded.

“That’s right,” Stephen agreed.

“Which means our deal doesn’t count,” Rebecca said flatly.

“Whether the deal is valid depends on whether I kept my promise–not on whether you took advantage of it,” Stephen corrected her. “As Meditech’s boss, you of all people should understand that.”
