Chapter 236 Making a Fool of Themselves

"Isabel, don't look down on us! The Zimmermans have been a part of Solaria for years. We're an established aristocratic family and fully qualified to collaborate with I.Z. Corporation!" Lillian snapped back. Her response sounded ridiculous to Isabel.

"Stop wasting your breath on her. Unlike us, she and her brother have all the time in the world to idle away. For us, every minute counts as money," Colin interjected coldly.

He no longer regarded Isabel as his daughter. To him, his only child was Lillian, the adopted daughter he took pride in.

This daughter was everything Isabel wasn't-obedient, understanding, and a source of honor.

Colin averted his gaze from Isabel, uninterested in her presence. He turned to Lillian and instructed, "I brought you here so you could use your charm and reputation to secure this deal."

Upon hearing that, Isabel immediately understood. Colin wanted Lillian to seduce I.Z. Corporation's owner.

If they later discovered that the person Lillian was supposed to charm turned out to be Colin's estranged son, their reactions would undoubtedly be priceless.

Colin likely never imagined that the owner of I.Z. Corporation, whom he was so eager to please, was the very son he had cast aside.

Carrying her lunchbox, Isabel left the parking garage and entered the building. Just as she approached the entrance, she heard Lillian's mocking voice.

"I was wondering why she'd show up here. At first, I thought she worked for I.Z. Corporation, but it turns out she's just delivering food."

Isabel glanced at Lillian and then down at the lunchbox in her hand. It did resemble something a delivery worker might carry.

She recalled a similar incident at Bennett Group, where she had delivered food to Xander and faced humiliation from a receptionist who mistook her for a delivery girl. Ignoring their taunts, Isabel headed toward the elevator, choosing the VIP one instead of the standard option.

"Dad, look at what Isabel's doing!" Lillian said, tugging at Colin's sleeve.

He turned to see Isabel scanning her fingerprint at the VIP elevator.

"She's just pretending to impress us." Colin scoffed. "There's no way someone like her could-"

Before he could finish, the scanner accepted Isabel's fingerprint. The doors opened, and she stepped inside.
