Xander's question completely stumped Samuel.

"I don't know! I couldn't read Isabe's mind," Samuel replied. But as he spoke, his thoughts drifted to the emerald guardian angel pendant in Isabel's hand. "From what I can tell, Isabel's appearance is almost certainly connected to that pendant."

Xander had the same thought, and now he was nearly certain.
