Madeline had just gotten her period, putting her in intense pain from the cramps. Alexander had accompanied her to the pharmacy to get some painkillers, but nothing seemed to be working.

“Hey, why are you guys here? Have you eaten?” Madeline asked Thomas weakly, but her eyes were directed at Noah.
