Matthew tossed the bodyguard aside. As he did so, Damon noticed Matthew’s expression. He was taken aback. It seemed that Matthew was heartbroken, even if the man himself didn’t realize it.

Damon rushed over in a bid to stop Matthew, but Matthew was even faster. By then, Matthew had already gotten into his car and driven off. In a blink of an eye, he was gone.

Matthew made his way to the hospital Wilhelmina was in. As he drove, he received a phone call from her. She told him that she had just gotten out of the emergency room, and that she was in enormous pain due to her severe injuries.

Had this been the past, Matthew would have been heartbroken to hear about that. Now, though, it just seemed like mockery. Wilhelmina was the orchestrator for this farce, and she had the gall to whine about her pain. But would that take away Willow’s pain? Willow had lost a finger and was now crippled for life. And today, she got hurt again. How much pain was Willow in now?
