Chapter 0189

I quietly pass some of Alec's pack members. Some wave at me, but I ignore them. One, because I find their actions hypocritical. I mean, why, all of a sudden, am I now a good person? Just because their alpha told them that he made a mistake, and they conveniently forgot what they did to me. No. It doesn't work like that. And two, I have more important things to think and worry about. Apart from the kids in this pack, the rest don't really matter to me. I quicken my steps, and for a moment I think about teleporting, but I quickly push that idea aside and continue walking.

Minutes later, I'm standing outside Raven's room. Her scent is strong, so I know she's inside.

I knock and wait. We are like sisters, but that doesn't mean that I have permission to enter her room whenever I feel like it.

"Come in," comes her soft voice.

Twisting the knob, I open the door and enter, then close it behind me. I'm shocked to find her still in her pajamas, lying across the bed. Raven is the kind of person who is always on the go. It's rare to find her still in bed at this time of the day. She's usually up at the crack of dawn, always doing something.

I take a seat on the bed just as she slightly lifts her head, and I get a view of her face. There are dark circles under her eyes, and she looks exhausted and worn out. Looking at her, it finally hits me that I am not the only one this damn curse is draining. "You don't look so great," I murmur, watching as she flops back on the bed with a tired groan.

"Speak for yourself," she answers, "In comparison, I actually look like a goddess, while you look like you crawled your way from the pits of hell."

"Hey, I don't look that bad." I retort.

She chuckles before pulling herself into a sitting position.
