I watched as Aurora walked back with the Lord Alpha, and though both seemed to be calm, I couldn’t help but wonder why he approached her in the first place.

“Hey,” Aurora said, and I nodded, wrapping an arm around her waist as I pulled her to me. She looked down at my hand for a second before smiling as she looked at the Lord Alpha. His eyes met mine, and he nodded.
