Benjamin’s words brought me back to reality, “Your grandmother is fine here. My people will keep an eye on her. But your grandfather is alone at home–are you sure you want to leave him by himself?”

The mention of Grandpa made me pause.

I glanced inside the room at May, who was doting on Grandma as she made tea, and my concern for Grandpa softened just a bit.

Looking back at Grandma, I made up my mind. “Let’s go home.”

Thirty minutes later, we pulled up to my house in the city.

This wasn’t the Carson estate within Shadow Pack’s borders, and without Beta warriors patrolling, I couldn’t help but feel uneasy about leaving Grandpa here by himself.

Inside, I found Grandpa resting on the couch.

I approached him quietly and greeted him in a soft voice, “Grandpa, we’re home. Grandma’s doing well today.”

Grandpa lifted his head slowly, his movements sluggish. As soon as his eyes focused, Justin appeared, walking toward him.
