Liam, in particular, was unusually talkative, making it evident that they yearned for both parental figures. No matter how hard Hazel tried, the presence of a father figure seemed indispensable.

“Hazel, I left something in the car. I’ll just head downstairs for a few minutes to retrieve them,” Ethan announced later, his hands had been occupied with the basket and snacks, leaving him unable to bring along the additional items. “Can I go with?” Liam inquired.

“You’re so pretty,” Daisy remarked later holding Ethan’s face in her small palms. Ethan burst into hearty laughter. “And you’re adorable too. Fluffy bunny.” Chuckling, he cupped her small face in his palms squeezing her cheeks and eliciting more laughter from Daisy.
