Chapter 96
Ethan entered Daisy’s ward to find her seated quietly, a nurse preparing to administer an injection. The little girl clung tightly to her stuffed bear, her gaze averted from the impending needle. Ethan’s expression softened as he observed the scene. He had managed to arrive just in time for her injection.
“Don’t worry, I’ll hold your hand,” he assured her in a soothing tone. Daisy turned towards him, her eyes widening at his surprise visit.
“Mr. Princess?” she called out, a bright smile gracing her face.
Ethan, maintaining his calm demeanor, addressed Daisy with a soothing tone. “Yes, bunny?”
The nurse, preparing for the injection, directed her attention to Dalsy. “Are you ready, Daisy?” she inquired.
Ethan stepped closer, his tall frame casting a protective shadow over Daisy’s small form. He gently took a seat beside her.
Daisy’s eyes darted between Ethan and the nurse, and she extended her little hand towards him. Ethan reached out, allowing her to hold onto his fingers tightly. Her small fingers gripped his with trust, and he reciprocated with a comforting squeeze.
As the nurse administered the shot, Ethan engaged Daisy in a conversation about her stuffed bear and her favorite things, diverting her attention from the medical procedure. He spoke with a gentle tone, creating a distraction that eased the discomfort of the moment.
The nurse swiftly completed the task, and Daisy, having conquered the moment, managed a brave smile, her eyes reflecting both relief and gratitude towards Ethan.

“Did it hurt?” he asked her, his gentle touch comforting as he rubbed the spot where the needle had been. Daisy nodded, her honesty evident in her expression. “It doesn’t hurt much, she reassured him, displaying a resilience beyond her years. Ethan couldn’t help but feel a pang of sadness at the realization that she had become accustomed to such medical procedures.
His tender touch transitioned to gently rubbing her face, a silent vow forming in his mind.
As time passed, Daisy’s spirits lifted, and she expressed her desire to play. They made their way to the construction site where the school was taking shape. The place was being painted.
Daisy was excited and demanded that she be allowed to paint.
The school, once bland and lifeless, slowly underwent a transformation as vibrant handprints adorned the walls, turning the space into a child-friendly and educational haven.
Daisy, armed with her tiny paintbrush, worked alongside Ethan. A unique bond formed as Ethan lightly traced shapes on the walls, providing a canvas for Daisy to paint over with an array of bright colors. The foremen overseeing the painting project couldn’t help but marvel at the scene – a man of significant influence willingly bossed around by an adorable little girl with rosy cheeks.
As the painting progressed, the room came to life, echoing with laughter and the clinking of paintbrushes. When the duo finally completed their masterpiece, Ethan’s once pristine, expensive shirt bore the colorful stains of their collaborative effort. Daisy, too, sported paint on her face, a testament to the delightful chaos they had created together. Both of them giggled, reveling in the joy of the mess they had made.
“Oh no,” Daisy ruttered, scrubbing at the hem of her dress where a yellow paint stain had made its mark. The realization struck her that Hazel would undoubtedly discover what she had been up to, and the consequences were likely to be less thap pleasant. Even Ellian’s clothes bore the evidence of their creative escapade, Amused by the little girl’s panic, Ethan laughed gently. However, he had already anticipated such a predicament, despite their use of protective gear over their clothes. Always one step ahead, he had instructed Axel to procure the exact same clothes Daisy was wearing, effectively eliminating any incriminating evidence of their day’s adventures.
Ethan presented the matching set of clothes to Daisy, and her giggles filled the room. With the assistance of a nurse, Daisy eagerly changed into the identical outfit, erasing any trace of the artistic chaos they had

“We’ve exhausted all our money. We have nothing left. Please, just do the surgery,” she pleaded, desperation evident in her grip on the doctor’s arm.
“I’m sorry, ma’am. We’ve tried our best already. We’ve started treatments even without a deposit. We can’t do more than this,” the sympathetic doctor replied, sighing. “She needs surgery, but you have to pay at least twenty percent, which is two hundred thousand. That’s the best we can do, ma’am. Most hospitals would even treat until you can afford a fifty percent payment.” With those words, the doctor walked away, leaving the woman devastated.
