Howard stretched out his warm hand, gently pinching her chin with his fingertips, meeting her clear gaze as he declared, “Just an insignificant woman.”

Their breaths intertwined, hot and urgent. His eyes, dark and gleaming, seemed to bewitch her very soul.

Her face flushed a deep crimson. “No, it’s not,” she managed to reply, recalling the ingredients list.

“Then make sure to wear it more often,” he said in a tone that sent ripples through her heart.

Gwendolyn felt lightheaded, relishing his fondness for her lipstick. In a barely audible whisper, she agreed, “Okay”
