My eyes flick to Liam. He looks as though he's ready to throw himself into traffic for the sake of diffusing this. You can't take him even if you call on every last of your family to fight, Liam.

Enoch, however-he's vibrating. I feel the shift in the air, the static, the damn storm winding up inside him. He's not just mad. He's unraveling.

And I'm afraid of where that might take us.

I swallow, moving closer to him again. "Just... not here. Please."

Still, nothing. Neither of them moves as they stare down at each other. Ready to punce when the other does. Fuck this isn't good.

No blinking. No shift. It's just that predator stillness-power and threat. His wolf is stirring inside of him. I can feel it. Eris can feel it.
