Luckily Yvette was still little, so she wasn't as bothered anymore a couple of days later, though she would be down for a while when she recalled. Lauren was quite delighted by her daughter's innate optimism and generosity. Life returned to its former peacefulness after the episode. Apart from the occasional dreary midnights, Lauren was quite pleased with it all.

After coaxing Yvette to sleep, she quietly read a children's book for a while. A few months later, after this went completely quiet, maybe it was time she considered her future.

After tucking Yvette in, she tiptoed to switch off the lights before returning to bed, pulling her baby girl into her arms and slowly closing her eyes.

Willy went out for an event. After it ended, he unknowingly arrived near the kindergarten. The traffic wasn't horrible that day, but he slowed down unconsciously when he looked at the luxury cars lining up on both sides of the road.

The mischievous, gorgeous little girl then popped up in his mind, and before he knew it, he had stepped on the brakes and turned the steering wheel.

Remembering she had cried her eyes out because he had killed her snake, he suddenly thought he should make up for it. He didn't have anything in hand, so he looked around after getting off his car. Seeing a few shops not far from the entrance, he remembered there was a toy shop not far from the corner nearby, and he ran back around.

After walking around in the shop, Willy was at a loss, facing the variety of toys.

"Sir, is there anything you'd like to get? We have all sorts of toys here. Are you looking to get it for a boy or a girl? Something fancy or something more cost-effective? I can recommend some for you!"

"Girl! I want the best! She's about this tall, three, four years old!" Willy gestured excitedly, evidently overjoyed by the shopkeeper's offer.

He really hadn't a clue what little girls liked!

"Then how about these? Singing plush toys, cute teddies and bunnies in clothes are quite popular with little girls. Or you can get these rubber Barbie dolls; we have realistic ones; the workmanship and materials used are quite refined, close to food grade. They're quite popular with girls as well. And then there's the DIY type that can be assembled, like drawing, home, kitchen, cars, and other bigger kinds that parents can play with as well are popular with little girls too..."

Looking at all the options, Willy was still lost. These toys weren't small; he couldn't possibly take them all, could he? Then he suddenly recalled Elijah saying she had an affinity for cold things. After having a feel, he decided on an exquisite rubber-like Barbie doll and even deliberately got one in a pink dress, thinking she might like it, seeing it was the same color as her dress.

"I'll take this for now! Remove the box and wrap it into a present. Make it nice!"

Leaving the shop with the doll in his hand, Willy was quite delighted. He checked the time and quickened his pace, thinking it was about time the children left kindergarten.
