Yvette was probably genuinely exhausted; Willy heard her even breathing in no time, and they went right inside after Lauren tucked the jacket.

Returning to Yvette's bedroom, Lauren got the bed ready, then took Yvette's pajamas out and placed the plushies she usually hugged as she slept on the inner side of the bed. After all that was done, she turned around only to see Willy stood motionlessly with Yvette in his arms, his gaze fixed on the little one as a faint smile hung on his face, looking as though he had won a billion-dollar lottery, not daring to smile despite the desire, a little like a buffoon.

With that, she swallowed her words and turned around, pretending to sort the bookshelf next to the bed.

She wasn't sure how much time had passed but seeing he was still carrying Yvette like a buffoon when she turned around, she rolled her eyes at him and asked, "Aren't you tired?" Looking over, Willy shook his head solemnly. To be honest, he long couldn't feel his arms anymore, but an indescribable sense of happiness enveloped him entirely right then.
