Chapter 1291

Lauren threw herself at Yvette and intuitively pulled her into her arms, shielding her from harm's way before they went tumbling down. Willy heard a booming 'thump' as he exited the elevator and the floor seemingly shook the next split second.

Before he could process what just happened, a series of chaotic footsteps accompanied by a heartrending bawl traveled to his ears. "Miss Lauren!"

"Mommy! Mommy! Wah..." Laurie?

Instantly, Willy dashed toward the stairwell, his sanity out the window, only to see Lauren lying on the floor. Two bodyguards stood beside her, not knowing how to help her, while Yvette tugged on her shirt, bawling. "Laurie..."

Blood drained from Willy's face as he rushed downstairs and knelt beside her, holding her in his arms. He first patted her face to wake her up before checking her pulse on her neck. "Laurie, wake up..."

"What are you guys just standing there for? Call a doctor!"

Picking Lauren up, Willy glared behind him, and the caretaker hurriedly picked Yvette up while a bodyguard helped Willy, leaving the other one dashing upstairs.

"Doctor, doctor!"

The medical staff pushed a patient trolley over as Willy brought Lauren back upstairs, and suddenly her eyes opened. "Yvette... Baby..."

Holding her hand, Willy hurriedly took Yvette from the caretaker. "Don't worry, she's fine! Hang in there, Laurie!"

"Mommy..."

Clearly frightened, Yvette bawled her eyes out, showing no signs of stopping anytime soon. Seeing the two in front of her, Lauren slowly put her raised hand down and closed her eyes. "Doctor!"

Following that, the group hurriedly pushed the trolley into the elevator, straight to the emergency room. Willy's face was grim to the core as he held Yvette in his arms.

After the emergency room door closed, Willy hurriedly brought Yvette further away to comfort her.

"It's okay, Yvette, don't cry. Mommy is exhausted; she'll need to sleep for a while. You'll disturb her if you cry. Don't cry, okay?"

"There, there, daddy's here!"

"Everything's going to be okay, Yvette, don't cry anymore, okay?"

Willy's mind was all over the place as he did a quick check on Yvette in his arms. "Are you hurt anywhere, Yvette? Tell Daddy."

Stifling her sobs, Yvette bit her lips and shook her head.

Doing another quick check on her, Willy eased a little, seeing that though her hair was ruffled and parts of her body got dusty, she didn't greatly react when he squeezed her tiny limbs. Thank heavens she wasn't injured, falling from such a tall flight of stairs! Lauren had probably cushioned her with her whole body.
