Chapter 1427 Raynee couldn't understand where he got that wound from. In an instant, she frowned and her body went rigid!

She didn't know that her words, the question she asked out of concern, the inquiry she spat out without a doubt, had instantly wiped out Wyatt's flames of passion.

His distracted gaze fell on the wound. It seemed to open a gate in his memory storage as the ravishing sceneries once again flooded his mind. All of a sudden, Wyatt felt that something was amiss. He jumped out of the sofa as if he had seen a ghost. Breathing heavily, he put on his clothes as his heart pounded wildly.

"Wyatt?"

Raynee sat up, her eyes widened, "What's wrong?"

For a moment, she could not comprehend the situation. He was acting too strangely. She could not hide her surprise.

They were burning with passion just a second ago, yet now it was as if they were suddenly thrown into a cold icehouse. The sudden change caught Raynee off guard, and she felt hurt too. Wyatt treated her as though she were some sort of virus.

His expression was peculiar. It was incomprehensible. He seemed to be pondering about something. It made Raynee puzzled as well.

As Wyatt buttoned his shirt, his expression darkened as he spat out, "It's nothing. It's just, there's something I need to do later-"

The words escaped his mouth before he could even think about it. He himself was stunned by what he did too. Did he just lie to her?

Even though his body had reacted before his mind could comprehend the situation, Wyatt really didn't want to do it. Even after he came back to his senses, he knew that he didn't want to do it, not right then. Every bone and every muscle in his body rejected the idea of it. He seemed to hear numerous voices echoing around his ears, telling him-No, not now!

That was the only thought in his head. Although he had noticed Raynee's distress and the uncomfortable atmosphere, he could not persuade himself into doing it.

Fortunately, his phone rang. It was a lifesaver.

It doesn't matter who was calling. Wyatt was grateful for the caller no matter what! Therefore, it was a call he must answer!

He picked up his phone and walked away. The tense atmosphere seemed to ease up.
