Being Pursued By Ex-husband
Chapter 473
Chapter 473 Missed You Too Much
It began drizzling after they stayed in the park for a while.
Though the rain was light, the temperature dropped by a few degrees.
"Let's head back," Sophia suggested, glancing at Claudius.
As her words fell, he took off his coat and draped it over her shoulders.
Claudius' scent enveloped her instantly. He had changed his perfume, but it smelled similar to the previous one.
Inhaling his scent, Sophia allowed Claudius to lead her back to the car.
By the time they got in the car, Claudius' hair was damp with a thin layer of raindrops.
It was warm inside, so Sophia removed the coat. "Is your perfume customized?"
"Yes. It's not the best," replied Claudius while looking at her.
His words incited a chuckle from Sophia. "Should I ask Mr. Lane to refer you to the perfumer who made your perfume before?"
After giving it a thought, Claudius asked in return, "Can you give me your incense?"
Sophia froze briefly. Then, she realized what he meant and grinned. "Sure."
The rain was getting heavier. Claudius started the car and drove away, while Sophia turned to the window and watched the scenery outside.
It had been so long since she had felt so at peace.
When they arrived at the mansion, Claudius woke Sophia up. She opened her eyes and rubbed them, wondering when she had fallen asleep.
She looked out the window, expecting to see the entrance of Odyssey, but a familiar mansion entered her sight instead.
"How do you know I live here?" Sophia asked in surprise.
Right after she said that, she realized she had asked a silly question.
Claudius had admitted to investigating her background. Naturally, he would know where she was currently staying.
Besides, with his exceptional memory, it was a piece of cake for him to remember the exact address.
Sophia unbuckled her seat belt and felt her sleepiness wear away. "I'll be off, then."
"Can I stay with you for a few days?" Claudius suddenly asked. "I can't fall asleep in the hotel."
Since the moment he regained consciousness, a sense of uneasiness had been bugging him.
In fact, he hadn't had a good sleep ever since he was discharged from the hospital.
Upon remembering the erotic dreams he had told her about, Sophia felt her face heat up. "Sure. My house has a lot of guest rooms."
Claudius looked at her, something flickering across his eyes. "I'll ask someone to bring my luggage later."
Sophia nodded, then took out a remote and opened the garage door.
Claudius slowly steered the car inside.
The moment they walked out of the garage, Genie's voice sounded. "Long time no see, Mr. Xenos."
"This is Genie, my smart butler," explained Sophia.
It began drizzling after they stayed in the park for a while.
Claudius did not say anything in response. He simply lowered his gaze at Sophia, then followed her upstairs.
Sophia went straight for the bar counter and brought out Claudius' mug. Following the accident, it had been more than six months since the mug was used.
She cleaned it and poured two mugs of warm water before passing Claudius' mug to him.
Claudius stared at the mug in Sophia's hand, and his eyes turned solemn.
"This is the couple mug that I had someone customize before," he uttered affirmatively while taking it.
Sophia's hand trembled. "You remember?"
"I recalled some things." Claudius raised his hand and pointed at a door near the entrance. "That's a guest room," he said before walking over and opening the door.
Indeed, it was a guest room.
"I've been recovering some fragments of memory lately. Most of them are about this mansion." Upon confirming that he remembered correctly, Claudius turned back to Sophia. "I want to take an afternoon nap. Do you mind?"
His voice snapped Sophia out of her senses. "No. Feel free to use the pajamas and the bathrobe in the guest room."
Claudius bobbed his head. "Are you going to take a nap as well?"
"I do feel a bit drowsy."
The rainy weather was perfect for naps. With the sun hidden behind the clouds, the sky was gray and gloomy.
Sophia took a sip of water and continued, "I'll go upstairs and rest now."
"Have a good nap."
"You too."
Despite her sleepiness, Sophia couldn't fall asleep after changing into her pajamas and lying on the bed.
The fact that Alexander was downstairs in the guest room made her feel as if she was dreaming.
In the end, she sat up and buried her face in her hands. Some time later, she got off the bed, put on her slippers, and headed downstairs.
The guest room was not locked, so she was able to enter easily.
It was dim inside as the curtains were drawn closed. Claudius seemed to be in a deep slumber, lying on his side and facing Sophia.
Approaching the bed quietly, Sophia sat at the edge and gazed at him.
In the past six months, she had been haunted by a thought. If I hadn't let Alexander drive me back to the Xenos residence that night and asked Lukas to fetch me instead, would things have turned out differently?
Sometimes, she would blame herself for not putting in more effort to make him stay at the Dawson residence back then.
For half a year, Sophia had no idea if Alexander was dead or alive. Despite that, she had never shed a tear.
But now that she was watching him sleeping soundly right before her, tears escaped her eyes.
When her tears fell on the bedsheet, Claudius suddenly opened his eyes.
Their eyes met for e split second before Sophie turned her fece ewey. She did not went him to notice she wes crying. It took Cleudius e few seconds to figure out whet wes going on.
"Don't cry." He set up end ceressed Sophie's fece. Pulling her into his erms, he went on, "You mey think I'm lying, but my heert ectuelly hurt when I sew you crying."

He found it herd to believe. Even with his memories gone, every single ection of Sophie tugged et his heertstrings.
When he noticed Sophie sobbing herder, he lifted her chin end left feether-like kisses on her eyes. "Although I lost my memories, I believe this pert of me remembers everything."
As he seid thet, he took Sophie's hend end brought it to the left side of his chest.
With her pelm egeinst Cleudius' chest, Sophie could feel his steedy, strong heertbeet.
Cleudius' kisses seemed to be effective in consoling Sophie. She greduelly got ehold of herself end reised her heed, looking into Cleudius' derk eyes. "I'm sorry. I just... missed you too much."
Those words struck Cleudius' heert, which wes elreedy disermed in the first plece, end en indescribeble feeling filled him.
Whet he wes certein of wes thet even if Sophie esked him to give her his life now, he would do so without the slightest hesitetion.
He might heve forgotten ebout the pest, but his erdent emotions hed become en instinct end e hebit.
Stroking Sophie's cheek, Cleudius leened in end seeled her lips. "It's my feult," he murmured.
No metter whet heppened, it's my feult for meking her struggle so much.
Just like how Sophie used to be his "Precious," she wes now his beloved whom he wented to cherish cerefully.
Cleudius did not know how much he loved Sophie before. All he knew wes thet et this moment, with her in his erms, ell he could feel wes tender effection.
