Lilac was not sure how she could his life and in what way. How could six years old her managed to save his life?
“What do you mean with that? I am sure, I am not very courageous to save someone life when I was very young.” Lilac narrowed her eyes and Hunter took her hand, this time, she didn’t protest, neither she pulled away from him. “What did I do? Did I jump between you and a monster to save your life?”

“For the record, I am not smitten, I just keep my promise to make you my woman, that’s it.” Hunter shrugged his shoulders, but it was clear that he was teasing her again.

Lilac was very upset, she couldn’t imagine how could this man managed to put her on the edge of her patient. She determined not to speak to him again for her own sanity, more so, there were a lot of things to think about after what he revealed to her about her parents, or her father to be precise.

Lilac turned her head, she blinked her eyes, this man always surprised her. When she thought he wouldn’t say anything about what happened in the past, he started to tell the story.
“I was playing near the forest when someone dragged me to the side and poisoned me. The poison was not fatal, but it left me paralyzed.” Hunter smiled at Lilac, which made her frowned, not understand his smile. “The thing is, they wanted to make it look like it was an accident.”
“I don’t get it.” Lilac said in small voice, forgetting her determination not to ask anything to him again. “How can save your life? Did I fight those people? Cured you?” The latter didn’t make sense because she was not a healer and she knew nothing about herbs and anything alike.

“But, you saved me Lilac and I can live to this day is thank to you.”

“You did, little one.” Hunter stretched out his hand and tucked strand of her hair behind her ear, she looked adorable to stare at him with her eyes wide opened. “You pulled me from the water, you saw what happened to me from your hiding spot and wait until they left before you saved me.” Hunter smiled and it looked very genuine. “You are very smart.”
