A harsh slap landed on Ruby’s cheek, she gritted her teeth because the pain was too much, but she couldn’t cry, since it would set him off even more.
Aiden glared at her for talking to Lilac earlier and made the other representative became uncomfortable, now he could feel their distrust toward him and this was not a good sign.
“Who allowed you to talk with her, huh?!” Aiden growled, but he immediately lowered his voice as he realized they were still inside the carriage and people could hear them from outside. “Did I allow you to talk with her!?” This time Aiden hissed, his voice was full of malice, his eyes filled with hatred and disdain for Ruby.
Probably because the look in Aiden’s eyes that finally snapped Ruby back to her mind, because at that time, she glared at him. Her anger for the way he treated her and how disrespectful he was toward the mother of his child, overcame her fear.

For a moment, Aiden didn’t know what to say, while Ruby started screaming on the top of her lungs, at this point, people out there, the representative and also the warriors that followed around this carriage would have heard her voice and knew they were currently fighting.
“What?! Tell me what I have done so wrong until you hit me?!” Ruby lost her mind. “Tell me what I have done so wrong to make you angry like this and hurt me while I am pregnant with your baby?! I am carrying our baby! Our first child, but you didn’t even care about me!”
Aiden hissed at her. “Lower your voice!”
“Or what?!” Ruby challenged him, she had enough with him, she didn’t want to be hurt anymore and because of her anger, she didn’t even realize it when tear started streaming down her face, as she glared at Aiden viciously, somehow, the sight of her rendered Aiden speechless, because he had never seen Ruby to be so heated like right now. “Do you want to kill me?!”
Aiden lunged toward Ruby and knocked her down to the floor of the carriage, as he covered her mouth and glared down at her.

Unfortunately, Aiden had marked Ruby, which made her his luna, his equal, with that he couldn’t use his alpha tone and subdued her, therefore, he could only do this before she blurted out another unnecessary thing for other people to hear.
“I will my mother for the way you behaved! Maybe she has been being very lenient because you are pregnant!” he threatened her, but Ruby just laughed, though her laughter was muf fled by Aiden’s palm.
Craziness reflected in her eyes and for the first time, Aiden actually felt worried about her because she was not usually like this. Ruby was very meek and one of the reasons why Aiden kept continuing his shi tty treatment toward her was because he was confidence, she wouldn’t be able to leave him, neither she would fight back.
Ruby came from a poor family, she was mistreated even in her own family, as they were having a hard time to live, the town she lived in was a poverty stricken place, she should be grateful because Aiden took her in and raised her status as the luna of the pack, even in her dream, she wouldn’t have it.
“You should be grateful to me!” Aiden hissed to her face, he kept his voice low, so he wouldn’t attract more unnecessary attention. “If you dare to raise your voice again, I will make sure your life will be more miserable than this!”
A tear streamed down Ruby’s cheek when she heard that. This was not the man that she was falling in love with, the man that she met at that time was a respectful alpha, who wouldn’t even raise his voice and hand toward woman, but now she saw him for who he
was.
Slowly, Aiden freed her mouth, but he was still taking precaution, just in case Ruby would scream again, so he still pinned her down against the carriage floor.
However, Ruby simply snickered at him. “If I knew you are someone like this, I will make sure you are not to know you. Even my miserable life in that destitute town, treated me way better than this title as your luna,” Ruby said that with feeling, which made Aiden fell ill all over.

He regretted making Ruby as his luna the second he marked her. It supposed to be Lilac, who bore his mark, but because of his stupi dity, he had to deal with this woman.
He should have listened to his parents not to bring this woman back to the pack house and forget about her and their first child, but he wanted to act like a rightful person and defended Ruby.
