Saved or

Kelly's POV

Pierce's men are now evacuating all the employees in my dad and mom's company. We're just about to leave to help when one of the guards left to guard us fell on the floor, bleeding and lifeless, I gasped as 1 stared at his eyes that were still open. He got a gunshot wound on his forehead and my heart immediately raced in fear. I remember the night I was kidnapped when I was young. It was scary and... traumatizing.

Pierce immediately grabbed my hand and dragged me towards the kitchen while the other guards were welcoming the newly arrived enemies with gunshots. What he did brought me back to reality.

One of the guards gave Pierce a gun before he went out to help the others. I'm panicking and all I could think about is surviving this day without getting hurt or losing my baby or Pierce.

"Where are we going?" I asked while I still could hear the loud gunshots echoing in the whole house.

Pierce licked his bottom lip and opened the sliding door. "We need to escape.*

He guided me to leave and he was holding my hand so tight, not wanting to let go. My heart was beating so fast and loud. I feel like it will pop out of my chest anytime.

I didn't expect this kind of attack. My throat went dry as Pierce and I ran towards the service exit of the mansion. It was connected to the garage but opening the gate would take time so we decided to leave by

foot.

It's 5PM already. We spent our time searching for Emily and this is what will happen this afternoon.

Pierce was still holding my hand so tight. On his other hand was the gun and I can see on his face that he's worried and...scared for us.

"Don't stop running, Kelly."

I swallowed hard. "I-I'm tired. I can....no longer run..."

Pierce stopped and faced me. He's also panting like me but he didn't care about his own body. He kneeled before me, showing me his back.

"Get on my back, Kelly."

"Pierce..."

he couldn't see it and got on his back. I wrapped my arms around his neck just enough not to choke him. He started running while carrying me on his back and I know how hard it was for him since I won't deny that I'm heavy as I became a little chubby because of my appetite these past few days. "I'll hold that
